Shubhra is woven in Chanderi, Madhya Pradesh, in the traditional silk-by-cotton construction that gives the cloth its glassy transparency. The ground is undyed ivory, the buti a fine gold nakshi worked in hand-twisted zari, and the border is a restrained two-inch temple line.
